A trusty 9ร13-inch pan opens up a world of dessert possibilities! These 15 9ร13-inch Pan Dessert Recipes include something for everyoneโs taste and flavor preferences. From creamy and layered tiramisu to classic lemon bars, this collection is full of inspiration for your next bake.

Oh, the 9ร13-inch baking pan. The MVP (Most Valuable Pan, of course) in so many kitchens. Chances are, even if youโre not a seasoned baker, you have one of these in your collection.
Letโs put it to use with one of these 15 popular 9ร13-inch dessert recipes from my website. This collection of 9ร13-inch pan dessert recipes includes everything from cakes and cookie bars, to fruit pie bars and classic rice krispie treats.
Cakes are usually the most popular way to use a 9ร13-inch pan, and I have many to choose from. A classic, go-to vanilla sheet cake is a must for any baker. I like to pair this cake with a super fluffy whipped buttercream frosting.

If you love warm spice flavors, youโll enjoy zucchini cake or spice cake. Top either variety with my all-time favorite brown butter cream cheese frosting. For an option without cream cheese frosting, try my most-loved apple cake during the fall season.
And you can always enjoy cake for breakfast with this apple crumb cake, which also fits perfectly in a 9ร13-inch pan!

A 9ร13-inch pan is also handy for classic handheld bar desserts. My recipes for rice krispie treats and M&M cookie bars are some of my easiest yet most frequently requested recipes for parties and gatherings. They disappear nearly as soon as I put the tray down!

Q: Whatโs your favorite recipe to make in a 9ร13-inch pan?
My Favorite 9ร13-inch Pans
A quality 9ร13-inch pan is one of my top recommendations for pans to stock in your kitchen. Here are a few that I use and love in my own kitchen:
- A metal pan is my first choice. This one is great quality, and this pan with a lid is super handy when transporting baked goods. I even use it for transporting cookies.
- A glass pan is also very useful and sometimes required for recipes like lemon bars.
- Ceramic baking dishes are also very handy, and work wonderfully for recipes like casseroles. I love this white ruffled dish; I use it when Iโm serving baked cream cheese French toast casserole.

Well I use my 9 x 13 a lot. Carrot Cake, Chocolate Cake, my chocolate iced Rice Krispie Bars that do NOT use marshmallow cream. But I recently tried your brownie recipe for a 9 x 13 pan and got RAVE reviews.
I have a question. 9ร13 pans can be glass or metal. Is there a reason that one is better than the other?
It really depends on the recipe! Always read through the post for our recommendations. Scroll up to the My Favorite 9ร13-inch Pans section for our favorites!
Butter Rum Bread Pudding sounds delicious, but I donโt see the link. Help?

Hi Margie, thank you so much for bringing that to our attention. The link has been added to the post!
Dear Sally,
My 9 x 13 pan is glass. I know thereโs something you need to do, add time, subtract time. Iโm not really sure. But when you are baking.
Hi Randy, glass baking pans tend to retain heat more than metal pans, so baked goods can brown more quickly around the edges. I usually recommend keeping an eye on the bake time, as it may need a few extra minutes, or you may need to tent the baked good with aluminum foil if the edges (and also the top) is browning too quickly before the center cooks. If a recipe specifies a metal pan, thatโs always a great choice for the most consistent results!
I donโt see where the Butter Rum Bread Pudding recipe is included. Is it me, or is it you? ๐
